Winter weddings often lean into rich colors and holiday details. Alex and Trevor embraced an all-white palette of florals, candlelight, and soft draping.
At Winterthur, one of Northern Delaware’s best-known estate wedding venues, historic architecture and formal gardens provided the backdrop for an immersive indoor ceremony and elegant portraits.

An Immersive Ceremony
The ceremony centered on a circular white platform surrounded by flowers and candlelight.
White roses, baby’s breath, winter greenery, and cascading blooms wrapped the platform from every side while tall candelabras rose above the arrangements. Floor-to-ceiling draping softened the room, creating layers of fabric behind the ceremony rather than a traditional backdrop. Guests were seated around the circular platform, placing the couple at the center of the design.

A Lace Gown for Winter
Alex’s gown featured a structured corset bodice covered in intricate lace that extended through sheer off-the-shoulder sleeves before flowing into a dramatic full skirt. For portraits outdoors, she added a white fur wrap. Her bouquet echoed the monochromatic palette with white roses and cascading florals.
Winter Portraits at a Historic Estate
Stone terraces, reflecting pools, bare trees, and winding garden paths created a beautiful setting for winter portraits across the historic estate. Several black-and-white portraits highlighted the textures of Alex’s lace gown, Trevor’s velvet tuxedo jacket, and the surrounding winter landscape.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a reception layered with white florals, candlelight, suspended floral installations, and softly draped fabric. The palette recalled snow and ice while candlelight added warmth to the room.
