A First Touch and a Vintage Getaway Car: Rachel & Jack

A classic Maryland wedding with private vows before the ceremony

Some wedding dresses deserve more than a passing mention.

Rachel’s fitted off-the-shoulder gown featured lace appliqué that extended into a sweeping cathedral-length train, creating some of the most memorable images in the gallery. Draped across a pale blue settee, stretched across the lawn behind her, and framing portraits throughout the property, the gown became a focal point.

But the moment Rachel and Jack remember most happened before the ceremony.

Jack didn’t want to see Rachel until she walked down the aisle. Still, the two wanted a moment together before the day unfolded, so they shared private vows during a first touch. Standing on opposite sides of a doorway, they held hands, exchanged words, and settled the nerves that come with such a big day.

“It was the most special moment of our day,” Rachel shared. “My husband was so extremely nervous, but him being able to hold my hand and talk with me before the chaos of the day began made him feel at ease.”

The color palette was soft and classic with white florals, greenery, and candlelight against champagne-toned dresses on the ladies and light tan suits on the guys. The look came together with layered paper goods, gold accents, and a textured ivory buttercream cake with floral accents.

And then came the exit.

Rachel and Jack climbed into a vintage convertible beneath an overcast sky, bouquet raised above the car door as they shared one last kiss before driving away. The kind of image that feels pulled from a movie and the perfect ending to a classic wedding day.
