Carolyn & Timmy’s Rehoboth Beach Wedding
Thoughtful coastal design, a love story decades in the making, and a wedding day that proved the right team can weather just about anything.
Carolyn and Timmy had been part of each other’s lives for years before they ever imagined standing together at the altar. Family friends growing up, they reconnected later in life and discovered that sometimes the best love stories simply take a little longer to find their beginning.

Coastal Design with a Sense of Place
Beach weddings don’t need seashells or nautical details to feel connected to the coast.
Carolyn and Timmy leaned into the landscape instead. Soft blue floral-print bridesmaid dresses echoed the colors of the ocean, while Carolyn’s sculptural strapless gown created a striking contrast against the sand and rolling waves. Meadow-inspired florals in shades of blush, cream, butter yellow, and soft blue blended effortlessly with beach grasses, driftwood, and the natural shoreline.
Long wooden farm tables beneath a clear-top tent were dressed with blue patterned napkins, smoky blue glassware, candlelight, and abundant floral centerpieces, creating a reception that felt refined yet unmistakably coastal.

Faith, Family, and the Outdoors
Family members shared Scripture readings throughout the ceremony, Timmy’s cousin officiated the wedding, and his grandfather offered the blessing before dinner. For Carolyn and Timmy, celebrating outdoors was just as meaningful.
“Timmy and I have always felt closest to God in nature. Whether in the mountains or by the sea, it is a grounding force that we return to as often as possible in our lives, and that force was with us throughout our wedding day, especially during our ceremony with the wind off the ocean blowing in our hair and the waves crashing behind us.”

A Song She Never Expected
Every wedding has moments that can’t be planned.
During the father-daughter dance, Carolyn’s dad surprised her by debuting an original song he had secretly written for the occasion. Working with musician friends and AI, he composed God’s Music and taught it to the band without Carolyn ever knowing.
“I still can’t listen to it without crying. It spoke to the deep, unmatched bond that we share as father and daughter, and I was so touched and surprised that I couldn’t even speak afterwards.”

When the Forecast Changed
Beach weddings always require a little flexibility. Sometimes they require a lot more.
Just days before the wedding, the forecast shifted to a Nor’easter with wind gusts approaching 45 miles per hour. The original sailcloth tent was no longer the right solution.
Coastal Tented Events quickly pivoted, replacing it with a sturdier clear-top tent that not only protected the celebration but became one of its defining design elements. The planning, experience, and quick decision-making behind the scenes allowed the day to unfold just as Carolyn and Timmy had envisioned.
Looking back, Carolyn says the experience reinforced one lesson above all else: great vendors don’t simply provide a service. They give couples confidence when plans suddenly change.

One Thing They Learned
Looking back, Carolyn’s biggest piece of advice is simple: choose vendors who care as much about your wedding as you do.
“Find vendors who care about you on a personal level and are excited to bring your ideas to life. Find people who care as much as you do and who delight in their work, and all of your wedding dreams can come true.”

Coastal Tented Events
When severe weather threatened Carolyn and Timmy’s beachfront wedding just days before the celebration, Coastal Tented Events quickly adapted, replacing the planned sailcloth tent with a clear-top structure designed to withstand the incoming storm. The last-minute change preserved both the couple’s vision and their peace of mind, allowing the celebration to unfold exactly as they had imagined.
Carolyn credits owner Zach McCarthy and his team with remaining calm under pressure and providing confidence when the forecast became uncertain. Their willingness to adapt in challenging conditions transformed what could have been a stressful situation into one of the day’s greatest successes.
