Over the past two weeks, our team has read and admired the many amazing love stories shared to us and have selected the top 4 couples to enter our Instagram voting competition kicking off on Wednesday, February 12th! The winner will be announced on Friday, February 14th and receive a night stay at the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana + dinner for 2 (value $350).
Chelsea and Zachary met in the Fall of 2019, and it truly felt like meeting a best friend they had known all their lives. They instantly bonded over their shared silly humor, love for Philly sports, and deep appreciation for family. Chelsea, from New Jersey, and Zachary, from Delaware, spent the early days of their relationship exploring Delaware on weekends, trying every brunch spot they could find, and Zachary showing Chelsea around new places. Although Chelsea had never been to Delaware before meeting Zachary, she quickly grew to love it. Their life together has been filled with summers spent at the Delaware and New Jersey beaches, turning Zachary into an official New Jersey resident, living in a small town they both adore, enjoying fun times with their families and friends, traveling, and sharing endless love and laughter.
Throughout their time together, Chelsea and Zachary faced several challenges— a pandemic, elections, family losses, job changes, and more. However, they discovered how much easier those difficult times became when faced together. After five years together, Zachary proposed on Sunset Beach in Cape May, and it was absolutely perfect. Their New Jersey proposal was special, but they knew they had to incorporate Delaware into their wedding. They chose Dewey Beach as the perfect location. Chelsea and Zachary are beyond thrilled to continue building their story together and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Keeley and Evan‘s story began in kindergarten, where Evan would stare at her during class and story time, though Keeley thought boys were “icky” and was oblivious to his feelings. In first grade, they ended up in the same class again, but Keeley, still thinking boys were annoying, never acknowledged Evan’s interest. Their paths diverged after Evan switched schools, but Keeley always found herself wondering about him. Years later, they had several awkward run-ins, including one at a family cookout where Keeley learned that Evan was Kristina’s cousin. Despite the ongoing awkwardness, they didn’t talk much, and life continued separately with college and dating other people.
After Keeley’s difficult breakup following college, Evan reached out through his sister on Instagram, and soon after, they went on their first date. To their surprise, it felt as if they had known each other forever. It turned out their families had secretly tried to set them up for years, and all the pieces finally fell into place. Now engaged, Keeley and Evan reflect on their journey from kindergarten crushes to awkward encounters, with their families playing matchmaker in the background—truly, it all came full circle.
Nick and Lexie met while working at Newark Parks and Rec summer camp at 18 and 19. The day they met, Lexie went to her school year job through the company and told all her coworkers she was in love with Nick and they would end up together. After a whole summer of working together and talking every minute, Nick and Lexie started dating in November of 2018. If you ask others, Nick and Lexie are truly best friends and are perfect for each other.
As cliche as it sounds, it really was love at first sight for Skylar and Anthony. Anthony was living in Florida, Sky was living in Wisconsin, when her high school best friend texted her Anthony’s Instagram profile and said “I found a man for you.” Nothing was happening in WI (obviously) so Sky immediately booked a flight to FL, which is where she met Anthony for the first time. They met getting mimosas with friends and instantly had a connection. Sky moved to FL a month later. A year later they were engaged. Now they run a wedding venue in Maryland with Anthony’s family, and get to celebrate so many loves stories.
